harvest

Ok so it bee awhile since i posted here. It is now late march, made it throught the summer heat.

had some small setbacks, water got turned off for a week in July, lost the bines but not the roots. everything died back and thought it was ruined, however i left the water on and in September the bines started back out. now the Cascade has grown over 10' and topped my trellis. I didn't expect this in the first year.

I have no experience with these things so im thinking i might be picking them soon before it gets to cold and frosts over.

these pics were taken on 10-24-10 and the hops have tripled in size from this photo. this is gonna make me some good beer.

Well it has bee a while since my last post but i want to let everyone know tha the hops are growing great.

one of the pants is over 7 feet tall now and all are showing signs of little nuggets starting to form. this is way more than I expected in the first year.

Well hope everyone has the same luck im having. If you have any questions let me know.

They have doubled in size from yesterday so still not that big however the nugget have sprouted as well now. They have just not broken the surface yet. Kinda feeling good about the hops chances at the moment.

Frist Sprouts

Well, 2 out of 3 have broke ground on the mounds. The Cascade has 6 shoots about 1 cm tall. The Newport has 3 shoots about 1 cm tall.

I am going to keep with the watering pattern tha tI have and wait and see on the last plant, It might just be a slow riser.
